It’s only a few weeks away before Google starts pushing the stable Android 12 update to its Pixel phones. For months, the update has been in a Stable Beta phase, and few Xiaomi phones are also participating in the testing. Initially, about 14 phones were testing the update, but that has now increased to 17. Going by a recent report, the Mi 10, Mi 10 Ultra, Redmi K30S / Mi 10T & Mi 10T Pro Android 12 update is currently under internal testing.
According to Xiaomiui news, the phones started testing the latest iteration of Android OS yesterday. Of course, it’s an MIUI based Android 12 build. Although they didn’t leave enough detail, the update is probably in the internal testing stage and could soon roll out to closed beta testers. However, that’ll take some time, given that the Android 12 update isn’t stable enough as a daily driver. Also, coupled with the instability of MIUI, it would be a bad decision to start rolling out the update to beta testers now.
Nevertheless, we expect the Redmi K30S / Mi 10T & Mi 10T Pro Android 12 update to arrive a few weeks after the stable release. Also, the Mi 10, Mi 10 Ultra will get the update early, among the other 14 phones that started the testing. Of course, there are other Xiaomi phones eligible for the Android 12 update. You can check the complete list here, as we already covered it in a different post. They’re currently not testing the update yet because of the resources involved. Hopefully, they’ll receive the update after the stable release.
And because Android upgrades are not related to MIUI versions, it’s difficult to say which version of MIUI will bring Android 12 to these phones. However, if the August launch for MIUI 13 is correct, we expect eligible Android 12 phones to receive the build with MIUI 13. That said, you should keep an eye on our website for the latest information.
