The Mi A3 Android 10 already arrived for some users during the initial rollout. It was later called back because of too many reported issues. The bugs affected the camera, fingerprint, and a lot of other things, which can be found here. We believe Xiaomi’s first rollout wasn’t well planned after the company said through its official Twitter handle that the Mi A3 Android 10 will arrive in March.
Even before the March time frame, the company already promised mid-February of which the update didn’t arrive until the last day in February. The joy was cut short when users started complaining of too many bugs, and Xiaomi had to roll back the update.
Meanwhile, we are in March now, and the second phase of the update has just started arriving. The update is arriving with a build number MIUI 11.0.8.0 QFFMMIXM. It’s a Global stable update, which comes along with Updated Android security patch for March 2020, and weighs just 35MB.
As many would expect, the update has fixed some of the bugs which arrived with the first Mi A3 Android 10 roll out. According to some users who already updated to the latest build, the battery performance is back to normal while the fingerprint scanner is now responsive as well. However, the bug affecting FOD and battery icon in AOD is still there. Overall, the feedback is not encouraging, but you can still go ahead and download since no new bug is reported.
The update is currently rolling out in batches for all Global units, and would likely take some time before it gets to all Mi A3 phones. If you already updated your Mi A3 to Android 10 with the first release, you should download the latest build as well. And don’t forget to tell us your experience via the comment section after you download the update.
