Xiaomi is currently pushing the new MIUI 11 user interface to their two years old Redmi 5 Plus. The device, unveiled in December 2017, running MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1, has since been updated to Android 8.1 based on MIUI 10 and now getting the MIUI 11.
The update started arriving this morning with a version number MIUI 11.0.2.0 OEGCNXM. It’s a stable update weighing 583MB and comes along with four changes, which also appeared in the Changelog. Check it below.

It adds lots of new experiences. Now, continuous swiping opens an additional menu in the GameTurbo. A home screen shortcut is now available, for GameTurbo as well. Also, auto-brightness, screenshot gestures, and reading mode get auto turned off when Game Turbo is on.
The MIUI 11.0.2.0 OEGCNXM pushes the security patch level to October, improving the system stability and security.
Users Experience
The little time spent with the phone after flashing the MIUI 11.0.2.0 OEGCNXM Stable, shows the battery life has improved. There’s a modification on the battery icon for the fast charging symbol.
The screen icons have got big, but the display is wearing a refreshing look. Thanks to the new system font that allows you to customize. You find the feature in Settings, Display, System font.
New filters, now added to camera features, including a night mode. The camera shot got some improvements as well, and now you can take pro shots on your Redmi 5 Plus.
Meanwhile, a few things haven’t just changed yet. The dark mode feature is still missing while the OS remains on Android 8.1. The Settings app got some adjustments with new features, including second space now placed inside “Special Features”
Meanwhile, to check for this update, navigate to your update app and scan for a new update. However, receiving the update is Redmi 5 Plus, still running the Chinese ROM. It means the update is China Stable version.
Nevertheless, you can still check for the update if you’re on Global Stable, you might be lucky enough to see it there. But you need to update that’s normal for OTA to delay before making it to every device, so be patient while waiting for the MIUI 11.0.2.0 OEGCNXM update.
