MIUI 12.20.7.2 China Beta ROM: Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro starts getting MIUI 12 Android 11 update.

Xiaomi suspended the closed beta testing last week to mark the Dragon Boat. The break ended yesterday with the release of MIUI 12.20.7.2 China Beta ROM. It’s currently arriving for eligible users, and to Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, the update brings Android 11.

Meanwhile, before now, there’s an official Android 11 ROM for the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. The fastboot ROM was made available after the release of Android 11 beta 1, which is also available for the POCO F2 Pro. However, to flash the ROM, you would have to unlock the device bootloader, but that’s not necessary since Android 11 is now part of the latest MIUI 12.20.7.2 China Beta ROM.

If you’re participating in the beta testing, you should have gotten the update by now, but you can still follow the link below this post to download the update. However, you might need an authorized Mi account to bypass the security checks if you’re not a beta tester.

Unfortunately, the update is suspended for Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7, Mi CC9e, and Redmi Note 8. On the former, the suspension is due to the issue of compass not being able to calibrate, while stability check is the reason for that of Redmi Note 7 and Mi CC9e.

The Redmi Note 8, initially wasn’t participating in the close beta testing, but last week, the first MIUI 12 beta ROM was released for the device. However, due to some issues, the update was pulled and is yet to be released for the second time. Maybe developers haven’t fixed the issue yet, which is likely why the update for devices is suspended.

Also, due to network instability in some cases, the update is suspended for Redmi K30 Pro while the next release won’t be available for Mi 10 and Mi 10 since they’re adapting to Android 11. And from September 5TH, 2020, Beta ROM development will be permanently suspended for the Mi 8, Mi 8 UD, Mi 8 Transparent Edition, Mi 8SE, Mi 8 Lite, Mi Mix 2S, Mi Max 3, and Mi Mix 3
