For the past few years, Xiaomi has been optimizing MIUI after the release of MIUI 12, and that delayed the release of MIUI 13. The company surprisingly released an Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5, of which the third batch, probably the last batch of deployment schedule, was released a couple of days ago. According to the roadmap, the rollout has already started, and it is likely to arrive for eligible phones by next month. Perhaps, in time for the release of MIUI 13, which according to reports, could arrive on these Xiaomi phones soon.
We expect Xiaomi to announce MIUI 13 next month, probably in the same event that the company will unveil Xiaomi 12. If that’s the case, it will be a repeat of last year’s launch event, where the MIUI 12.5 debuted alongside Xiaomi Mi 11. That’s looking likely as MIUI based Android 12 build could be arriving on some Xiaomi phones soon.
The latest news about the MIUI 13 was from Redmi Executive, Lu Weibing when he teased about the next iteration of MIUI not being far behind. It looks like the company has already started developing the MIUI 13 based Android 12 build for some of its flagship phones. A close look at the MIUI firmware shows that about seven Xiaomi phones will receive the update soon.
However, it’s unclear when the update will be released, but if past events are anything to go by, we still have to wait for a few weeks. The current build is probably under internal testing, after which it will be released to closed beta testers. Before that happens, we expect the official release, and that’s likely to happen next month. That said, we will be on the lookout for more information about the official launch date of MIUI 13.
