Xiaomi announced its current iteration of MIUI – MIUI 13 on December 28, 2021. The Chinese company started deploying the upgrade starting with its flagship phones in that region, with a few changes in the Control Center. They moved the brightness and volume slider up to the four quick settings area at the top, close to the Wi-fi and Data settings. The new changes were believed to be part of MIUI 13, but it seems not to be the case, at least, for the international models. Perhaps, the MIUI 13 control center design is exclusive to a few devices as it seems to not work for some users.
We have gotten some reports about the MIUI 13 control center not showing even after upgrading to MIUI 13. Supposedly, after the upgrade to Android 12-based MIUI 13, selecting the new control center will see the latest version appear. Unfortunately, not everyone is having it easy getting the changes, but it seems something can be done about it.
MIUI 13 control center not showing?
If you’re already on Android 12 with MIUI 13, you can enable the new control center by updating the System UI Plugin app. The app was extracted from Xiaomi 12 Pro-China, and it will enable the MIUI 13 control center for you. However, the app can cause a boot loop or even brick your device, and hence, we recommend enabling USB debugging in developer settings so you can uninstall the app via ADB if things go south.
Nevertheless, we tested the app, and it works fine as we didn’t experience any of those situations above. The System UI Plugin App V13.0.0.4.0 has a download size of 7.8MB, and you can download it from here.
Note that only those on Android 12 with stable MIUI 13 can download this app. We won’t be responsible if anything happens to your phone trying this procedure.
