Meanwhile, a new Redmi 8 update is now rolling out to the global users. The update is coming with a build number MIUI 11.0.10.0 PCNINXM and weighs 278MB.

Arriving with the update is an updated Android security patch for March, App lock, system optimization, and bug fixes. Below is the full Changelog of the new Redmi 8 update

System

  • Updated Android Security Patch to March 2020
  • Increased System security

App lock

  • New: App lock is supported for all apps now

As usual, the update is a staged rollout and will come in batches. With that said, you should exercise patience and check back later if you haven’t received notification for the update. And while waiting for prompt notification, you can scan for a new update from the updater app.

Unfortunately, the update is still based on Android Pie, but a recent report has it that the phone is currently testing Android 10. If everything goes well, the update will start arriving for Beta testers in the coming weeks, after which it will be released for the general public.

So far, no bug has been reported, meaning the update is safe. Please, don’t forget to leave feedback for us after updating your device.
