While most Samsung phones receive a new update monthly, some are on a quarterly arrangement. These devices get a new update once every three months, and that’s the case with the new Galaxy A23 update. Interestingly, it’s not the latest security patch.

Samsung is rolling out a January 2025 security patch update to the Galaxy A23 units. The rollout is exclusive to those in the US. It has a build number A235MUBUAEXL3, and we expect other regions to start getting the update soon.
Although it’s not the latest patch update, we recommend installing it when prompted. According to the January security bulletin, vulnerabilities ranging from high to critical targeting Android phones were resolved. It applies to the Galaxy A23 and is probably the reason for the new update.
How to download the new Galaxy A23 update
The rollout is staged, meaning it will not arrive for everyone simultaneously. Nevertheless, you can check for it via Settings>>System update>>Download and install. Follow the screen prompts to download it and reboot your device to complete the installation.

Yes. We understand Samsung will release the One UI 7 upgrade to the Galaxy A23. However, we do not know the timeframe as the beta build has not been concluded. We hope to get more details about the release plan in the coming weeks.
