Samsung released an update early this month for the Galaxy S24 series. The update delivered the much-anticipated One UI 6.1.1 features but failed to bump the Android security patch level to the latest version. In what we believe to be intentional, a new Galaxy S24 update is now rolling out with a new patch.
It’s the second OTA update for the Galaxy S24 series this month. The initial release introduced the Galaxy AI features with the One UI 6.1.1. Samsung probably pushed the update with the August security patch as it plans to release another update to resolve any issues and bump the patch level to September. As expected, the new Galaxy S24 update is a fixed build with the latest security patch.
The latest update is rolling out with version number and weighs about 451.53 MB. It’s exclusive to European devices, though we expect a wider release in the coming days. If you have any issues after the last release, we recommend installing the new update when prompted. Aside from resolving bugs and optimizing performance, it addresses over 66 security vulnerabilities ranging from high to critical.

The update is available for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. It’s an OTA, meaning it will take some time before arriving on all eligible phones. However, you can check for the upgrade via Settings>>System update>>Download and install. If possible, backup your data somewhere safe before installing the update.
