Xiaomi has been refining MIUI to make it lightweight and free from bugs. That has been the case in the last two iterations of MIUI, but that hasn’t stopped the introduction of new features. The Chinese company keeps introducing new features with each update and has now added new gallery editing options.
From reports, the latest Gallery Editor with version number V0.8.21 brought some filters to the gallery app. Arriving with the latest update are three new filters – Smart Beauty, Skin Beautification, and Ultra Clear Portrait. These options have been added to the gallery edit options.
Unfortunately, Xiaomi has limited it to premium phones. Only the Xiaomi 12 series, Xiaomi 11 series, Redmi K50 series, Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10, Mi 10S, Mi Mix 4, and Mi Civi are eligible for the new edit options in the gallery.
As usual, these are Chinese models, and it’s unclear when the features will arrive on global models. Perhaps, the company will introduce some of it with the MIUI 13.5, expected to debut in August.
How do the new gallery editing options works
From the short video on the source link, Xiaomi uses AI to access the skin tone of your image, examine facial features and appearance. You’ll be provided with options to select from for the best outcome. Meanwhile, that is for the Smart Beauty option, and you can check the video for how the other two options work.

Xiaomi has now released the latest version of its Gallery Editor app update. Interestingly, both the global and Chinese models are getting the update, but exclusive to those devices mentioned above.
