Xiaomi is now sending out a new global stable update for the Redmi Note 9 Pro, few hours after another Android 11-based MIUI 12 update arrived in India. The update is a bit disappointing as it sans the much anticipated Android 11 update, which seems to be in the final testing phase.
A couple of weeks ago, Xiaomi released a “Beta Stable” MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 9 Pro users in India. The build arrived with Android 11 and could only make it to a few selected units, and that is normal. But a public rollout for the update never happened, only for the company to start sending a fresh update today. It’s another beta build and is again exclusive for Indians, with the global users now receiving a new update with the January security patch.
The new global stable update for the Redmi Note 9 Pro is hitting eligible units with a version number – MIUI 12.0.2.0 QJZMIXM. It weighs in at 281MB. Aside from bumping the security patch level, it improved system security and stability only.
You can scan for the update by heading to System Updates (Updater App). Click on “Check for updates.” But since it’s an OTA roll out, it’ll take some time before appearing on your device. However, there’s a link below this post, and you can download the Recovery and OTA ROM by clicking on it.
And as for the Android 11-based MIUI 12 update, only a few people in India have received it. Unfortunately, there’s no ETA as to when the update will arrive for everyone. However, from the look of things, the update is still under testing. The public and other regions will probably start getting the Android 11 update after the testing is completed.
