Unlike the Chinese MIUI apps, which get updated almost every week, the global variants get a new update once in a while. This time, a new MIUI Global Mi Music player has been released and going by the update log, it seems to have brought an interesting fix. The weekly MIUI bug tracker that was released yesterday shows that Redmi 9T/Redmi 9 Power/Redmi Note 9 4G users are having issues with video playback. It seems the new MIUI global Mi Music player has fixed that.

Before the recent update, Xiaomi said they have already rolled out a fix to few people who confirmed that the issues have been addressed. And with a new update rolling out to the Mi Music Player app globally with a “fix for issues related to video playback,” is not a coincidence. Nevertheless, it’s still surprising how an issue with video playback is being fixed with an update to the Mi Music player. But we believe there has been an improvement going by the update log. Hence, if you’re having difficulties with video playback on your device, we recommend that you download and install the new MIUI Global Mi Music player.

The new update has been released for everyone. It has a version number – V5.6.12i and weighs in at 38MB. Going by the update log, there’s an improved visual design while issues relating to video playback have been fixed.
