This year, the Redmi Note 9 Pro will be exclusive for the Indian market and will sell Globally as Redmi Note 9S. Both phones have the same hardware and software design but answer different names depending on the region. The latter already got a stable update couple of days ago, which improved the stability and smoothness of the system, and now, the former starts getting a new Beta Stable update.
The new Redmi Note 9 Pro update is arriving with a build number MIUI 11.0.5.0 QJWINXM. It’s currently arriving for Beta Team members, Mi pilots, and limited users in India.
Unfortunately, at the time of this report, we could not verify what’s on the Changelog nor the size of the update, but based on the assumption, it will arrive with the April Android security patch, bug fixes, and system optimization.
We also expect the new Redmi Note 9 Pro update to bring a fix for the bug affecting video playback on YouTube. Both the Redmi Note 9S and the Note 9 Pro has an HDR screen, but YouTube HDR takes no effect on the screen. This new update will likely be arriving with a fix.

The update is arriving through OTA and will take some time before getting to all Beta users. Once you get a notification for the update, download immediately, or it will be pulled, and next time it’d arrive is when the public starts getting it. The purpose of the Beta phase is to allow few users to test the update and report bugs if there are any, then the developer will work on the reported bugs before it will start arriving for everyone.
Meanwhile, if you have got the new Redmi Note 9 Pro update, don’t forget to leave feedback for us. We specifically want to know if the bug with YouTube HDR has been fixed.
