Xiaomi is now pushing a new stable Android 11-base MIUI 12 update for Mi 10T / Pro units they sold in India. That means that MIUI 12.5 update is not ready to start rolling out yet. Hence, Xiaomi is pushing a new update based on MIUI 12 as they continue to stable the latest iteration of its Android skin. According to the global rollout plan, the first set of devices to receive the update are expected this month. Hopefully, the Mi 10T / Pro won’t be too far away from receiving the much-anticipated update. However, you have to download the new update to prepare the device for seamless transition while fixing some bugs.
The update has a version number – MIUI 12.1.2.0 RJDINXM – and comes in a 736MB package. It’s essentially a security patch build, but that size means it brings more than just a new Android security patch level. As of the time of this writing, we could only confirm the improvement in the charging speed. Unfortunately, the gesture hasn’t improved, but it looks like the problem is from Google. It seems to be an Android 11 issue, and we hope for a fix in the future.
Meanwhile, the new stable Android 11-based MIUI 12 update for Mi 10T / Pro update could only push the Android security level to March 2021. That’s outdated, given that a couple of devices are already receiving the April 2021 patch. However, that’s because the build has been in development for some time now, but we hope to see a new update arrive soon.
