It’s looking increasingly likely that we’ll once again witness the irregularities of the Redmi Note 8/8T Android 10 update. Xiaomi didn’t finalize the rollout until a couple of months ago and has promised Android 11, which is yet to start rolling out globally. Although there’s doubt about the update reaching the Redmi Note 8T, we’re optimistic, given that the device has essentially the same development as the Redmi Note 8. Meanwhile, a new update for Redmi Note 8T is currently seeding in Europe and Russia, with the latest Android security patch.
The new update for Redmi Note 8T in Europe has a build number – MIUI 12.0.3.0 QCXEUXM – while the Russian users get a stable MIUI 12.0.4.0 QCXEUXM. It’s a security patch build that bumps the Android security level to April 2021. However, it’s only the European models that are pushing the latest patch. The Russian models could only update to the March 2021 patch. And depending on your region, you can scan for the update via Updater App or use the links below.
However, as usual, the update is a limited release, meaning only beta testers will receive it for preview. That has been the approach of rolling out stable updates, but the preview is to last for a couple of days. After a successful beta preview, the rollout will extend to more users and probably more regions. Nevertheless, if you have a compatible TWRP Recovery installed or an authorized Mi Beta account, you can go ahead and flash the ROM.
