Xiaomi, towards the end of last year, presented the Redmi 9T to the global market. The device is a rebadged Redmi Note 9 4G in the Chinese market. It debuted with Android 10 on top of MIUI 12, making it eligible for the Android 11 update. However, it’s been months since users started waiting for a new OS update, but that met some setbacks and has been delayed since then.
A couple of months ago, Xiaomi released the Android 11 based MIUI 12 update for the Redmi 9T. The update reached a few users, particularly Mi Pilots, and was supposedly suspended till now. It seems a performance-threatening bug was detected, and hence, the delay. However, given the events of the past few days, the device is set to get both Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 simultaneously.
As usual, the Chinese units started getting a stable Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update a couple of days ago. It means the global models will get the same treatment, but that should be in the coming weeks. And perhaps to prepare the device ahead of the planned upgrade, a new update for the Redmi 9T has been released.
The new update for the Redmi 9T is available in Turkey and has a version number – MIUI 12.0.7.0 QJQTRXM. It’s a security patch build to increase system security and stability while reducing system lag. As usual, the update has addressed some issues while fortifying the device ahead of the planned MIUI 12.5 and Android 11 upgrade. Hence, we recommend that you download the new update for the Redmi 9T for a seamless transition to Android 11.
