It’s not often we see Xiaomi roll out Android one update without messing the system up. The recent one was the Mi A3 Android 11 update that arrived a couple of weeks ago. It left some devices for dead, but as always, Xiaomi stepped in. They asked that affected users should take the phone to their Mi service center and get it fixed. That worked, as expected. Meanwhile, they’re currently rolling out a new Xiaomi Mi A3 update, which is based on Aneroid 11 and brings the January 2021 patch. Aside from bumping the patch level, it also adds other exciting features while fixing the status bar overlapping issue.
The new Xiaomi Mi A3 update is rolling out to everyone and would arrive on your device in a 1.45MB package if you run Android 10. Those on Android 11 will receive an incremental build, which weighs in at 329MB. And yes, the update is safe, and you should install it when prompted. It comes with multiple optimizations, new features and tweaks, and bug fixes.
First off, the build has brought back the screen recorder app. The feature, which allows you to record your screen operation for some reason, was disabled, but that has been restored now. To access the screen record option, reveal the notification panel and use the edit button to add to quick settings.
The update has now fixed the overlapping issues in the status bar, giving it proper alignment. It adds a YouTube Music app to System apps, and that means you can’t uninstall it. Additionally, you get an optimized and smooth experience, and long may it continue.
That said, if you’ve been skeptical about installing the new Xiaomi Mi A3 update, you can confidently do that now. Again, the update is safe and even brings lots of optimization and bug fixes. It’s probably the best update the Mi A3 users have received in a long while.
