Reports coming out of China says the next Redmi Note 8 China Beta update will be based on Android 10. We already brought you an early report about the device testing the next OS update. Now a new report is here to confirm the previous one while hinting at the arrival of Android 10 for Mi CC9E.
According to the report “Redmi Note 8, Xiaomi CC9E is the last Android version, next will be adapted to Android 10.” It also said that from “June 20, 2020, the following models will cease to be included in the development version open beta: Xiaomi 6, Redmi Note 5, Xiaomi 6X, Xiaomi Note 3, and Xiaomi Mix2.”
As for when the Redmi Note 8 China Beta Update will start seeding, no one knows. However, it’s likely to be soon since the announcement has been made. Also, the Redmi Note 8 Pro already received a new OS update, and the regular variant is expected to get the update as well.
The first set of people to receive the update will be the Closed Beta group. They will test the update for some time and then give feedback to developers as per the area of improvement and also report bugs. After the ROM preview, the update will be released for the Stable Chinese ROM users while the Global users get it afterward.
A reminder that Redmi Note 8 arrived last year with a 6.39-inch IPS LCD panel. It runs Snapdragon 665 Octa-Core processor paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB, expandable via Micro SD. The camera is a quad primary 48MP sensor, accompanied by 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor, while the front shooter is a 13MP lens.
