The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro users in Europe are now grabbing a new update. It’s the monthly security fix, which comes with some optimization and bug fixes. For now, only selected users are receiving the update and should extend to the region in the coming days.
The October security patch update for the Mi 10 Pro has a version number, MIUI 12.0.5.0 QJAEUXM, and weighs in at 624MB. Arriving with the update is an updated security patch update for October 2020, which has improved the system security. It also brings optimization for the control center layout in landscape mode.
Unfortunately, it fails to bring the new Android 11 OS, which has already arrived for the Chinese and global users. However, we expect the update to arrive much later, with subsequent MIUI 12 builds.
To scan for the October security patch update for the Mi 10 Pro, head over to System Updates, or follow the download links below. And if it’s your first time updating manually, below is a step by step guide on how to go through it.
After downloading the recovery ROM, you should move it to your device’s internal memory. Then head to System Updates and click on the three dots at the top right to reveal “choose update package.” If the option that comes up doesn’t include that, then tap on the MIUI 12 logo until it says “new features” added. At this stage, click on the three dots again and choose the recovery ROM you downloaded. The system will try to verify the ROM, and after that, the flashing will commence. At this point, you should let the flashing complete and your device will reboot.
