It has been an underwhelming year for Samsung with the current Android OS release. The company is still testing the build based on One UI 7, but only for the Galaxy S24 series. Usually, they start the test simultaneously for its flagship phones (Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip), but that has not happened. But that might change as a One UI 7 beta build for Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 has just been spotted.

Samsung might be planning a One UI 7 beta update for its foldable phones. The beta preview has been exclusive to the Galaxy S24 series, and that might change soon. If that’s the case, the testing will be opened to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in Europe and India.
It was Tarun Vats who spotted the first One UI 7 beta build for the Galaxy Folds. It suggests the rollout might commence soon but will not delay the release of the stable One UI 7 update. Maybe for the Foldables, but not for other phones, we think.
What does the potential One UI 7 beta for Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 mean for the stable release?
Usually, a beta preview is organized before a stable release commences. We still believe that to be the case with the One UI 7 beta update. Hence, we do not think starting a beta preview for the Foldables will slow the stable release. Perhaps it might be for the Folds, but not for the Galaxy S24 series that has been testing the build for weeks.
Either way, we hope Samsung sorts out any issues delaying the stable One UI 7. Hopefully, the release of the Galaxy S24 will open ways for other phones to start getting the much-anticipated upgrade.
