The predecessor of the OnePlus 8 and 8T series, the OnePlus 7 and 7T series have gotten a taste of the sweet Android 12 and the brand decides to roll out the update to the former. OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8T on T-Mobile are getting Android 12.
The Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 was rolled out to these two series sometime in March, however, the users in the USA were sort of left in the lurch as regards the software. The brand has finally remembered and it has rolled out the software for the T-Mobile variant of the OnePlus 8 and 8T in the US, with other carriers following suit soon hopefully.
The software update isn’t just about OxygenOS 12 but the smartphones also received the July 2022 security patch as well. The build number for the update on the OnePlus 8 is IN2017_11_C.41 and KB2007_11_C.41 for the 8T series.
What’s new?
Apart from the security enhancements, there seem to be changes as regards Material You. There is a “dynamic color theming” introduced to the two smartphones giving them a better UI experience. Furthermore, the brand adds tweaks to the privacy dashboard and accessibility enhancements.
