Google has already released the Android 12 source code to AOSP. They did it even before the stable Android 12 started seeding to Pixel users. The reason is to allow OEM and developers to start testing the build. So far, major OEMs like OnePlus have been testing the Android 12 update with the hope of releasing the stable version before the year runs out. The testing started with the OnePlus 9 series – the company’s latest flagship phone. And according to reports, the OnePlus 8 Series and the OnePlus 8T OxygenOS 12 closed beta testers are wanted for
Like other closed beta testers, this group of people will help OnePlus locate bugs and report to developers as feedback. They’re also allowed to make suggestions, which makes it more interesting. It might interest you to know that the Closed Beta Group is the nearest to OnePlus staff. That makes it a privilege as you would meet and discuss with an elite crew of the OnePlus community.
However, the group requires “absolute secrecy,” according to OnePlus. That’s because the Closed Beta Testers get unstable builds to test, and if exposed to the public, can cause damage to their OnePlus device. Hence, selected users are required to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) with the company before they can participate in the program.
Meanwhile, the OnePlus 8 series and OnePlus 8T OxygenOS 12 Closed beta recruitment is opened to 200 people, each from the eligible devices. Interestingly, OnePlus has some gifts for selected testers with excellent performance. But mind you that joining the Closed Beta Testers group requires a lot of work. You might be compelled to flash builds that require a clean flash. That can result in data loss, and hence, you’re reminded to backup your data at all times.
Here are the requirements for the OnePlus 8 series and OnePlus 8T OxygenOS 12 closed beta testers
