After announcing the OxygenOS 13-based on Android 13 a couple of weeks ago, OnePlus has now released the Open Beta version of the build to its flagship phones of last year. The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro OxygenOS 13 build is currently available for those in India and North America, with other regions expected to follow soon.
The OxygenOS 13-based Android 13 build packed quite some interesting features. It introduced “Aquamorphic Design” to improve the display experience. There has been a new type of Always-on display that shows live information, while device interconnection has improved. The security and Gaming experience received some enhancement. Also, some optimizations to improve speed, battery life, and app experience.
Meanwhile, while installing the latest build introduces these features to the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, there are some known bugs. According to the company, Carrier version devices (VZW) are not compatible with the current build. When an iPhone is calling, the incoming call notification isn’t displayed, while the notification of the flashlight switch doesn’t show on the lock screen. You should consider all that before proceeding with the upgrade.
Of course, the latest release is exclusive to Indians and North Americans. Other regions, including Europe, will receive the update soon due to slight differences in features. And while waiting for the release, you can join the OxygenOS 13 Ask Me Anything (AMA) session if you have any questions for the product team.
