OnePlus has officially unveiled its mid-range smartphone for 2023, the OnePlus Nord 3, following months of speculation. This new device offers several improvements over its predecessor, the Nord 2T, including a larger and higher-quality display, a more powerful chipset, and a bigger battery.
Features of the OnePlus Nord 3
The OnePlus Nord 3 boasts a 6.74-inch OLED display, a significant increase from the 6.43-inch screen of the previous model. With a resolution of 1240 x 2772 pixels, the display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ video. It also offers features such as a 1000Hz touch response rate, 10-bit color depth, and adjustable refresh rate between 40 and 120Hz. The smartphone is equipped with Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers for an immersive multimedia experience.
Powering the OnePlus Nord 3 is the new MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, replacing the older Dimensity 1300, providing improved performance and efficiency. It comes with options for either 8GB or 16GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.
The camera setup remains largely unchanged from the previous model. The Nord 3 features a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera with a 1/1.56″ sensor size and 1.0μm pixel pitch, paired with an optically stabilized f/1.9 lens. It also includes an 8MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.3 aperture and a 120-degree field of view, as well as a 2MP macro camera. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera.
The smartphone is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, a significant upgrade from its predecessor’s 4,500mAh capacity. It also supports 80W fast charging, and OnePlus promises good battery health even after four years of regular use. The OnePlus Nord 3 comes preloaded with Android 13 based on OxygenOS 13, and the company guarantees three years of software updates, ensuring it will receive three major Android upgrades.
The OnePlus Nord 3 showcases a new design with flat corners and a flat glass back panel, providing a cleaner and more streamlined look. The device features water and dust resistance and retains OnePlus’ signature alert slider on the side. It will be available in Misty Green and Tempest Gray color options.
The base variant of the OnePlus Nord 3 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage starts at €499, while the higher-end 16GB/256GB model costs an additional €50. However, OnePlus is offering an early bird discount on the latter until July 31, making it available for €499.
