The newest Android 13 release, OneUI 5.1, comes pre-installed on the recently introduced Samsung Galaxy S23 series. Interestingly, OneUI 5.1, which debuted with Samsung’s flagship phones, is now available for the Galaxy S20, S21, and S22 series.
Features of the OneUI 5.1 rolled out to the previous flagships
Although it is not a huge release, OneUI 5.1 has several important new additions. These improvements include improvements to the Camera and Gallery applications, as well as the option to remaster and fine-tune photographs saved on your phone in a way similar to Pixel “Photo Unblur.” The Expert RAW software is also available for some OneUI 5.1 smartphones, such as the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Multitasking has been improved with corner drags to rapidly enter or exit full-screen mode, as well as Modes and Routines that replicate the “Focus” feature introduced in iOS 16. A Spotify recommendations option and Settings quick panels have also been included as new home screen widgets.
Samsung did not specify when previous-generation devices will be upgraded to OneUI 5.1. Nonetheless, the Galaxy S22 and certain S20 series devices appear to be receiving the OTA in Europe. Owners of Exynos models of the Galaxy S20, S21, and S22 are reporting that they have received the update on the /r/OneUl subreddit.
According to estimates on the web, the One UI 5.1 upgrade is between 1.4 and 1.9GB in size. We have a 1.9GB OTA file for the Exynos model for people who own the Galaxy S22 Ultra. This update also contains the most recent February 2023 security update, which is now being sent out to a variety of Samsung Galaxy devices.
Samsung previously revealed that One UI 5.1 will be available in the coming weeks for the Galaxy S20, S21, and Galaxy S22, as well as the Galaxy Z Flip, Z Flip 5G, Z Flip 3, Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Fold 4.
