As Xiaomi works on refining MIUI to make it free from bugs, there are issues the company might have to address first. Multiple users complained about overheating and couldn’t update issues after the latest builds that were released for their device.
The Redmi Note 9S and Note 9 Pro users are experiencing heating issues while charging and using their phones. Apparently, the bug is limited to some regions, meaning not everyone has the same experience. According to the report published on the Mi community, the affected versions include MIUI 12.5.6.0 RJWMIXM, MIUI 12.5.7.0 RJWEUXM, MIUI 12.5.4.0 RJWMXAT, MIUI 12.5.11.0 RJZEUXM, MIUI 12.5.8.0 RJZMIXM.
Affected regions are Global, Europe, and Mexico. Xiaomi has acknowledged the issue pinning it down to Mi thermal. They’re working on a fixed build, and hopefully, it will be released soon.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 11T Pro users have a different issue as their device won’t install the latest update. The European build with a version number MIUI 13.0.10.0 SKDEUXM has the problem. Xiaomi, however, has acknowledged the issue and promised to address it.
When will overheating and couldn’t update issue be fixed
There’s no ETA as when Xiaomi plans to roll out an update that’ll address the overheating and couldn’t update issues affecting some of its phones. Nevertheless, we expect the company to act soon since it has already acknowledged the bugs.
For those experiencing the “couldn’t update” issue, make sure there’s enough free storage on your device and try again. Perhaps, wait for a new release Xiaomi promised.
