OnePlus has announced that the stable OxygenOS 12 update based on Android 12 will be available shortly for older devices such as the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, 8T, and 9R. The stable OxygenOS 12 build arrives just over a month after the OS’s first open beta for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro was launched.
The C.11 software build includes numerous new updates and features, including network and system stability improvements. According to OnePlus, the full changelog for OxygenOS 12 for the OnePlus 8 series and the OnePlus 9R is as follows:

- Improved textures on desktop icons, thanks to a design influenced by new materials and combining lighting and layers.
- Rectified the issue of background apps being abnormally closed in some cases.
- Rectified the issue with lens permissions when using third-party camera apps
- Resolved the issue of the screen not responding when getting notifications
Dark mode
- Dark mode now has three settings that can be adjusted, allowing for a more tailored and comfortable user experience.
Shelf
- Earphone Control Card with new style options for Cards, making data contents more visible and easy to understand
- Newly introduced Earphone Control Card with Bluetooth earphone one-click adjustment
- OnePlus Scout is now available on Shelf, allowing you to search several things such as Apps, Settings, Media Data, and more on your OnePlus device,
- Newly introduced OnePlus Watch Card on Shelf allows you to quickly check your health metrics.
Work-Life Balance
- All users now have access to the Work-Life Balance tool, which allows you to move between Work and Life mode with ease using simple settings.
Gallery
- With a two-finger pinch gesture, you can now switch between multiple layouts, with Gallery intelligently recognizing the best-quality photographs and cropping the thumbnail based on the content, making the gallery layout more beautiful.
Canvas AOD
- Canvas AOD adds new line and color styles to your lock screen for a more personalized experience with inspiring pictures.
- Multiple brushes and strokes have been added, as well as color adjustment support.
- Improved face recognition and optimization of the app to better recognize the features and skin tone of various figures.
Network
- Rectified the issue of being unable to automatically connect to Wi-Fi.
Bluetooth
- Fixed the issue where wireless earbuds wouldn’t play a sound when connected to Bluetooth in certain situations.
