Google pulled in a lot of attention from the Android community at the launch of the Google Pixel 6 series, which is a very sleek handset bearing amazing characteristics, one of which is its spectacular photography features. But most gadgets aren’t flawless and for that reason, there are some Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 pro issues we noticed. Read on!!!

google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 pro

Google Pixel 6 series debuted with the Android 12 and of course Google tensor chipset as well as an octa-core processor. Even though the device is said to rival one of the Apple series flagship devices, some users complain about some issues which reduce the overall performance of the device.

What are the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 pro issues and how can we fix them?

We have listed some issues we found out and proffered some solutions to them below.

Dirty pipe exploit

This vulnerability was discovered from recent versions of the Linus kernel and it crept into Android 12-based devices of which the Pixel 6 series is among. The fix for this exploit has been anticipated for a fairly long period until the April SMR arrived. We had expected the rolling out into the Pixel since the Samsung flagship models had gotten the package. But, the launch of the Android 12 QPR3 beta 2 a few days later says most users might have to wait a bit for a fix.

If you’re truly worried about this vulnerability then you have to enroll in the Google beta program and install the Android 12 QPR3 beta 2. This isn’t a stable version though, and the company had said that it might not work for all users. That said, you can still minimize the risks of the Dirty Pipe by avoiding sideload of apps from different sources apart from PlayStore and then not installing apps from unknown developers. Meanwhile, another update might start seeding so let’s be on alert for future patches.

WiFi signal problems

Some users complained about the WiFi randomly shutting down on their devices after they received the first update on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro since its launch. The issue remains even after toggling the WiFi back on. And for a device with no headphone jack, it hackneys the user’s experience

The Pixel community acknowledged this issue and tabled Google’s March update as the solution to it. If you have issues with your WiFi then you can proceed to install the software update.

Fingerprint sensor issues

This comprises a sluggish sensor and then a security vulnerability in which another fingerprint can unlock the phone. In some cases, the biometrics stop working entirely and will need a factory reset to get it back on track.

The November software update fixed the sensor issue(available on bothered unlocked and carrier-locked), though some devices we’re fixed through the December and January security patch. Unfortunately, may people are still reporting a slow fingerprint unlock time, but Google sees it as a security measure rather than a bug. However, the company might be working on introducing a face unlock feature after it was spotted on a newly purchased Pixel 6 to offer more unlocking options.

Other annoying issues discovered by the users include ghost dialing, refresh rate woes, faster animations, and broken AOD. Google has ensured that these problems have been attended to by the December and January patch. So if you’re facing any of these issues, do well to upgrade to your software version and enjoy the other unique features of the Pixel 6 series.
