The Meta boss, Mark Zuckerberg, isn’t done with Whatsapp just yet. Picture-in-Picture mode for video calls will be coming to iOS giving users access to a whole new realm of multitasking. With the way many messaging apps are surfacing online(with great features), Whatsapp makes sure to keep up the pace by offering a lot of features that make messaging interesting.
The Picture-in-Picture mode for video calls isn’t anything out of the ordinary as Android users are familiar with how it operates for a while now. It’s just having a small window on your screen while you do some other things on your smartphone (like texting). Picture-in-Picture mode arrived on iPhones via iOS 14 giving some apps the ability to use this feature.
This is seen in YouTube, however, you have to engage on the app’s premium subscription before you can access the feature. The Picture-in-Picture mode for video calls will be available to users in the beta channel and unlike YouTube, you don’t have to pay any extra penny for a subscription of any sort to access the feature.
More than Picture-in-Picture mode for video calls
As mentioned earlier, Whatsapp has gotten a lot of tweaks since the year began and they are all impressive as it is important.
We’ve got Whatsapp call links, paid subscriptions and Companion mode, the ability to use WhatsApp on two phones, a Whatsapp message yourself feature, the ability to mute others in a call, new privacy control settings, tweaks to prevent WhatsApp scams, new message reactions and many more. Oh well, impressive features for one of the most used social media platforms.
