There have always been issues with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro fingerprint scanners from the owners. Fingerprint issues were reported months ago and it seems Google listened to the complaints and rolled out fixes after which there were still complaints. Meanwhile, it seems the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro fingerprint scanners have been improved, courtesy of the Android 13 beta 4.1.
Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro fingerprint scanner issues finally solved by Android 13 beta 4.1?
There have always been reports of laggy and slow fingerprint issues in the case of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 pro. From a folk in PhoneArena who installed the latest Android 13 beta, the fingerprint seems to be faster after installing the software.
He termed his experience with the fingerprint a “faster, more accurate, and problem free” one. This is good news because most Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users have to deal with a laggy and slow fingerprint scanner, sometimes it doesn’t work at all.
To sign up for the beta program, you can simply check out eligible devices via the link at the end of the article and then opt in. Afterward, opt into your Settings, Software Updates, and then download and install.
Since the Android 13 stable version is coming in soon, you should be prepared to leave the beta program early otherwise you will have to wipe your phone before doing so. Apart from this, there is nothing bad to worry about with the software.
The Android 13 beta 4.1 not only addresses issues from the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro fingerprint scanner but also the mid-range Pixel 6a. Earlier, we had reported that the Pixel 6a allows random fingerprint unlock of the phone but not anymore.
According to skellup1337 on Reddit, “I finally got fed up with the slowness of the fingerprint sensor on the 6a. Installed the Android 13 beta. It is 100x better on this beta.” If you’ve got issues with the Pixel 6 series scanners, then you can check out the Android 13 beta 4.1.
