We should be expecting a lot of tweaks for Bluetooth audios following many interesting Bluetooth features announced in the I/O. We’ve heard of the spatial audio, Chromecast support, and then the multipoint Audio switching. While they are quite amazing, we’re yet to see them in the supported devices. Meanwhile, the Google Fast Pair Audio switching is set to debut with Pixel Buds Pro.
According to a recent post made by the Big G, the brand revealed that the Google Fast Pair Audio switching, as the name goes, is a product of Google Fast Pair. The Google Fast Pair Audio switching works to switch between different sounds on your phone according to your actions.
Different from the normal Bluetooth multipoint Audio switching, the Google Fast Pair Audio switching uses a series of ranked categories “to determine how to prioritize sounds between phone calls, media, and all of the sounds your devices may make. So for example, if you’re watching a video on your tablet and you receive a notification on your phone, your headphone audio will not switch to your phone. But if you receive a phone call, your headphone audio will make the switch.”
To make switches back to your original device, you will be provided with a notification which means better optimization giving you a better experience of the audio switching.
Availability of the Google Fast Pair Audio switching
As mentioned earlier, the Google Fast Pair Audio switching is coming to the Pixel Buds Pro. In addition, the feature will be rolled out to some JBL and Sony devices as the days go by. Meanwhile, the feature works for Android devices currently, however, the Big G will be making moves to initiate the sleek feat to other platforms and devices.
