Google has started rolling out the Pixel January 2025 security patch update to eligible phones. It’s a public release, meaning availability for everyone regardless of region. Nevertheless, it might take some time before arriving on your device, but you can check for it manually.
Google releases a security patch update for the Pixel lineup every month, starting with the Pixel 6 series. As usual, the January 2025 patch includes bug fixes and system improvements.
The update comes in a 98.82MB package size for the Pixel 7 Pro, but expect a different size for your Pixel phone. The changes delivered for each phone are different as well. Google resolved audio delay and stability issues when using certain apps and camera stability issues when switching to a connected camera under certain conditions on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 series.
The Pixel 9 series got an exclusive fix that resolved some display and UX issues, like screens flashing lines in certain conditions and problems with Pixel Launcher theming.
