Pixel phone charging and haptic issues

The supposed Charging and Vibration issues are changes that didn't appear on the March 2025 Feature Drop update changelog.

Google released a big update to Pixel phones a few days ago. It delivered features the company has been testing for months. Unfortunately, some of these changes are causing problems to users. Many of them reporting charging and haptic vibration issues.

Google has invested so much in the past year to make battery performance on Pixel phones on par with other flagship phones. They introduced Adaptive Charging (phone only charges to 80% battery). The idea is to extend the battery life, but that seems to have stopped working for people using it after the recent update.

Pixel phone charging and haptic issues

According to reports, Pixel phones are charging beyond the 80% limit. However, it seems the latest update recalibrated the battery stats. It means the phone will recalibrate the 100% level, and will continue charging to 80% when the process is completed.

Hence, if you have a charging issue with your Pixel, especially with adaptive charging enabled, we recommend giving it more time. We believe after a few charging cycles, the device will stop charging at 80%.

Issues with Haptic motors since the last update

While Google did not mention haptic changes on the March 2025 update log, it seems they made a few. Users on Reddit claim their phones vibrate “significantly” differently from before. These changes feel weird to some people, but many are loving it.

The change to the haptic is probably permanent, but you can adjust it. You can set your preferred vibration in the Settings app. Head to Accessibility and Vibration & Feedback to adjust or turn them off entirely.

conclusion

Meanwhile, these are not issues but changes that occur after a major upgrade. Your charging needs time to adjust while you can set the Haptic to your preferred choice. Meanwhile, if you are having issues with the display, there is a fix here.
