It has been a bad few days for Google as Pixel users keep reporting issues affecting their phones. This is probably the worst time for this kind of report, as the company is gearing toward the Pixel 9 release. The latest report suggests that using Spotify on a Pixel phone might send the device to a boot loop.
Google Pixel phones seem to be having a hard time this period, with many issues being reported by users on Reddit and Google forums. The latest bug seems exclusive to the Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel 8 units.
According to reports, playing a song on Spotify sends the device to a boot loop on some above-mentioned phones. The problem looks to have started a couple of hours ago. We understand a new Spotify app update started rolling out on July 2, and it might probably be the cause.
Meanwhile, both Google and Spotify have yet to say anything about the issue, but we understand hard rest can help recover your phone when it’s on a boot loop. Also, turning off notifications and clearing the app cache can momentarily resolve the issue.
The possible way to ensure your device doesn’t enter the boot loop should be uninstalling the app. You can probably install an older version if you must use the app or wait for a new update, which will start rolling out soon.
