Seems the Big G is still bringing in some tweaks via the Android 13 QPR1 Beta and the Pixel Recorder 4.0 is one of the very interesting features. The feature will be rolling out to older Pixel phones although the Pixel Recorder 4.0 is already on the Pixel 7 series. So what’s with this feature?
What to expect from Pixel Recorder 4.0
First off, the Pixel Recorder 4.0 rolling out to the older Pixel phones(which isn’t currently widely available) is a newer build compared to that on the Pixel 7 series, however, they are integrated with similar usability tweaks. There are some tweaks in the sharing section making the feature more granular.
Usually, on clicking the share button, we get “Anyone with the link” but now there are two new options – “Public” and “Share with specific people” – and then the Private remains. Other than sharing via a link, you can use the file sharing method – where you have to share the audio via “Copy transcript to Google docs”.
Furthermore, the Pixel Recorder 4.0 on the Pixel 7 series gives you a setting to tweak the playback speed to whichever you prefer. You’ll find playback speeds -0.5x, 1.0x, 1.5x, 2.0x, and 3.0x – on opening the overflow menu. Then, moving back to transcripts, Big G has provided a few transcript languages(in addition to the existing ones to choose from. The company added English (India) Español(Estados Unidos) and Français (Canada) which makes the transcription languages 13.
Knowing how Google rolls out interesting features via the Android 13 QPR1 Beta, we expect another tweak on the Pixel Recorder 4.0 which has been confirmed. It will bring the ability to “differentiate and transcribe each speaker’s words separately”. Meanwhile, the newly added transcription languages are not available on the older Pixel phones. Jump on your Play store to get the new Pixel Recorder 4.0.
