Last month, Xiaomi announced the global HyperOS release plan, which puts POCO phones on the second wave of the rollout. Although some devices listed to get the update in December received it last month, no POCO phone got such treatment, but we expect eligible ones to start getting the update this month.
POCO is a sub-brand of Xiaomi, and hence, they pre-install their phones with HyperOS after transitioning from MIUI. Over a dozen POCO phones will receive the stable HyperOS 2—-based Android 15 update, but so far, the update has yet to start rolling out. Nevertheless, we expect eligible units to get the update in December, probably starting this week.
While the HyperOS 2 does not bring substantial user-facing changes, as Xiaomi is prioritizing stability and performance, there are interesting features we think you will like. HyperConnect ensures smooth connectivity, and you can finally share files with iOS. Also, HyperCore improves performance and stability, while some AI features were introduced with HyperAI.
Of course, the HyperOS 2 is based on Android 15, but not all eligible POCO phones will get the upgrade with Android 15. Most mid-range smartphones that have elapsed their OS support, might only receive the new iteration of HyperOS without an OS upgrade. You can check the eligible list below.
