The Xiaomi POCO Pods are budget-friendly true wireless earbuds that mark Poco’s entry into the AloT (AIoT) industry in India. These earbuds offer several features that make them an attractive option for users on a budget. Let’s take a look at what was integrated in this pods
Details of the Xiaomi POCO Pods
The Poco Pods come with an IPX4 rating, making them resistant to sweat and light splashes of water, making them suitable for workouts and outdoor activities. Each earbud is equipped with a 12mm driver, promising decent audio quality.
For connectivity, the Pods utilize Bluetooth 5.3, which offers a stable and efficient wireless connection to compatible devices. The earbuds also support Google Fast Pair functionality, making pairing with Android devices quick and hassle-free. The low latency of up to 60ms ensures minimal audio delay, making them suitable for gaming and video content consumption.
The earbuds feature Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), which helps reduce background noise during calls, leading to clearer voice quality for both the caller and the receiver. However, it’s important to note that the Poco Pods only support the SBC audio codec, which may limit the audio quality compared to other earbuds that support more advanced codecs like AAC or aptX.
The touch controls on the Poco Pods allow users to manage calls and music playback with ease. Users can answer calls and play/pause music by double-tapping the earbuds. Additionally, they can reject/end a call and skip to the next track using the touch controls.
Poco hasn’t disclosed the exact battery capacity of the earbuds and charging case, but the company claims that the Poco Pods can provide up to 30 hours of music playback on a single charge when used with the charging case. Additionally, a quick 10-minute top-up is said to offer up to 90 minutes of playback time.
Interestingly, the Poco Pods bear similarities to the recently released Redmi Buds 4 Active, which is also a budget-friendly TWS earbud option from Xiaomi. However, the Poco Pods are slightly cheaper, priced at INR 1,199 in India, and are available in the Midnight Groove color option.
