Xiaomi began upgrading the POCO X3 to Android 11 in Europe a couple of months ago. It was supposed to have arrived for every region by now but was delayed due to bugs. The rollout restarted recently with the release to the global models a few days ago, and now, the India POCO X3 Android 11 update starts rolling as expected. However, it’s a limited rollout at the moment to give time for beta testers to preview the ROM.

The Indian POCO X3 is essentially the same phone as the global models, just the lack of NFC. Hence, the Android 11 build in the region won’t be different from that of Global and European models. And if that’s the case, you need to backup your data before upgrading to Android 11. The reason is due to bugs facing the device users after upgrading, of which Xiaomi is yet to fix. Some of them include Widevine security levels down to L3, lags, and other minor bugs. Of course, third-party launchers stops working after upgrading on gestures, so you’ll revert to the system launcher.

Meanwhile, with your data backed up in a safe location, you can perform a factory reset after the upgrade to fix some of these issues. According to feedback, that fixes 80% of the issues encountered after upgrading to Android 11. And if you’re Widevine security moves to L3 after upgrading, this post here might help push it back to L1.

The POCO X3 Android 11 update is hitting eligible users with a version number – MIUI 12.0.1.0 RJGINXM – and weighs in at 2.3GB. It brings a stable MIUI based on Android 11 while pushing the Android security patch level to May 2021 to increase system security. The update also renames GPS toggle as location, and of course, adds the features baked inside Android 11.

Unfortunately, there’s no MIUI 12.5, meaning the new MIUI OS will arrive with a different build. You can get notified when the update starts seeding by following our tracker page. However, you can follow the link below to download the POCO X3 Android 11 update for the India ROM.
