Xiaomi is sure to target significant growth in the market share this season, I mean, which brand wouldn’t? We’ve had different smartphones from Xiaomi this period ranging from flagship to midranges and even budget-friendly devices. Well, the Poco X5 and POCO X5 Pro will be arriving soon and the specs list has surfaced online.
Features of POCO X5 and POCO X5 Pro
The retailer from which the leak was obtained claims that the Xiaomi Poco X5 Pro has a 6.67″ AMOLED screen with a 1,080 x 2,400px resolution (20:9). Unfortunately, the refresh rate is not specified, however, it should be 120Hz like the Poco X4 Pro.
In any case, the Snapdragon 778G, a significant increase over the 695 found within the X4 Pro, powers the phone. The store lists two memory configurations with a microSD card slot each: 6/128GB and 8/256 GB. The phone reportedly runs MIUI 14 for Poco on top of Android 12.
Similar to the model from the previous Pro version, it’s getting a 108MP main sensor, 2MP macro and an 8MP ultra-wide (118°) camera are the additional back cameras. There is a 16MP selfie camera on the front.
The same 5,000mAh battery and 67W wired-only charging are used in the power system. The front has Gorilla Glass 5 for protection, and the device has an IP68 rating. Since the latter doesn’t sound like Poco’s style, the specification sheet may have made a mistake (the X4 Pro is rated for only IP53).
The cost has not yet been disclosed. The price of the X4 Pro at launch was €350 for the 8/256GB variant and €350 for the 6/128GB model (a little less with early bird pricing). The Poco X5 Pro doesn’t appear to have undergone many changes overall, but the Snapdragon 778G will significantly affect performance and pricing probably. You will have three colour options to choose from Blue, Black, and, of course, Poco Yellow.
The merchant also provides information about the Xiaomi Poco X5. This device maintains the Snapdragon 695 (as seen in Geekbench) and features a 6.67″ AMOLED display (1,080 x 2,400px) with a 120Hz refresh rate, leading us to believe the Pro has a 120Hz display as well. The IP54 certification on the X5 base model makes more sense.
The 48MP main camera is still accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide (118°) and a 2MP macro, but this basic model has some downgrades compared to the Pro model. Don’t expect 4K, though. The 13MP selfie camera has been reduced.
The battery has also changed; while the capacity is still 5,000mAh, the charging rate has decreased to 33W. The Poco X5 is advertised in 6/128GB and 8/256GB variants, just like its sibling (expandable with a microSD). Three colour options are available for the X5: green, blue, and black.
