When the Waze Automotive app was released to the tech world, it didn’t have a lot of availability and there were hopes that the app will be spreading across more automobiles in the coming days. Well, Polestar 2 and Volvo now support the Waze Automotive app. The availability of the Waze Automotive app was limited to just Renault Austral Hybrid and Megane E-Tech in Europe but the brand promised more availability in 2023. We’re in 2023 now and the brand is keeping you their promises.
The Waze App takes up a portrait display form on the Polestar 2 and Volvo according to the photos shared in the article(via 9to5google). Users will be able to “access Waze’s real-time routing, navigation, alerts, settings, preferences, and saved places.”
“As more drivers move away from using phone docks and USB cables in their cars, we wanted to provide a one-time setup so you can quickly navigate the roads without the need for a smartphone”
Setup the Waze app on your Polestar 2 and Volvo
To engage with the Automotive app, you have to go through a one-time setup process where the brand notes that the automotive app “eliminates phone-related hassles and distractions thanks to its embedded and wireless capabilities.”
Waze says it “developed and tested the embedded app with an emulator and Volvo and Polestar 2 cars to deliver the best possible experience before launching in customer cars.” You can access the app in the Google Play store “Waze on Google built-in is available starting today to all Volvo car models with Google built-in and Polestar 2 in global markets where Google Play Store is available.”
