Issues with the Google Pixel series have always been consistent since the dawn of Pixel’s popularity. I mean, we can’t go months without getting any issues on social media platforms from Google Pixel users – it’s either connection, fingerprint, or even bugs from software updates. Unfortunately, there’s another, it’s poor video call quality.
Further details on the poor video call quality
The Google Pixel 7 series was praised by the Big G to be the best picture and video quality yet on Pixel, however, there’s (probably) no tech out there without issues. Users took to the Reddit platform to narrate their ordeals and circumstances with different video calling apps.
It was first noticed with Google Meet and then further complaints showed that WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram and other apps were affected as well. There are some images shared in the article (via PhoneArena) that reveals the poor video call quality of the Google Pixel 7 series. iPad Pro 8, a Pixel 7 and Pixel 3 XL were made to capture a photo on a video call and it was discovered that the Pixel 3XL outperformed the Pixel 7 (although was not as clear as the iPad Pro 8).
Speaking of the culprit, it is still uncertain if the poor video call quality is a hardware or software issue. It could however be a software issue since this was witnessed by the Pixel 7 users around the time the smartphone was released. Meanwhile, there has been a comparison between Android’s Snapchat and that of iOS (in terms of video quality) but that didn’t apply to Google Meet. Well, we hope Google takes a look at the issue and sends a fix very quickly
