Since the introduction of 5G, Qualcomm has been championing the deployment of 5G enabled SoC. Last year, the company released its first high-premium 5G SoC – Snapdragon 765 and 765G, of which the successor – Snapdragon 768G already propels a device. Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition, to be precise. It seems the company is about to announce a new SoC under the 600-series with 5G support.
From the reports coming out of China, on Weibo, Qualcomm is getting set to announce a new SoC. The processor is dubbed Snapdragon SM6350, and some of the specs have also been revealed. According to Digital Chat Station, the upcoming Snapdragon SM6350 will be the first 600-series 5G chip.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon SM6350 will have an Octa-Core CPU of two performance clusters, clocked at 2.246GHz, and six efficiency cores clocked at 1.804GHz. Unfortunately, there’s no information about the CPU architecture, but we know of the GPU. It’s Adreno 615GPU with a maximum frequency of 850MHz, which is the same GPU in the Snapdragon 670 SoC.
That’s all we know about the Snapdragon SM6350 Chipset, but we hope to learn more about the new chip in the coming weeks.

Nevertheless, the introduction of Snapdragon SM6350 will see affordable mid-range phone debut with 5G. Considering the rate at which 5G is spreading, it won’t be long until more countries adopt the innovation. However, that’ll take some time now with the whole 5G Coronavirus conspiracy theory.
But despite all that, the fact is that 5G remains the future and sooner or later every country will jump on the train. And when this happens, with the Snapdragon SM6350, there will be a more affordable 5G device, which is probably what most smartphone buyers need.
