Xiaomi recently announced the second phase of the MIUI 13 stable deployment and has started rolling it out to eligible units. So far, the upgrade has arrived on a handful of Xiaomi phones, mostly premium phones in China, but it seems mid-range options are also getting the update. The Redmi K30 4G, which is the Chinese version of the POCO X2, has started receiving a much-anticipated upgrade. However, it’s a limited release pending when the beta preview is completed, although we are optimistic in the next couple of days.
The Redmi K30 4G debuted in December 2019 pre-installed with Android 10 on top of MIUI 11. It’s currently running Android 11 with MIUI 12.5, but that has changed as Xiaomi is now pushing MIUI 13 stable update with Android 12 to the device users. The update weighs in at 3.9GB, and unsurprisingly, it comes with all the anticipated features.
The new introductions include Mi Smart Hub, integrated into the new MIUI control center to seamlessly connect all Xiaomi ecosystems running MIUI. Interestingly, the new privacy features – privacy camera for face recognition, protective watermarks for images, and comprehensive anti-fraud protection mechanism are part of the package. There has been an addition of new widgets, Mi Sans system font, “crystallization” super wallpapers, while Mi AI can be fully optimized now.
