The next iteration of Android (Android 12) has been in beta testing for weeks now. It is expected that in the coming weeks, Google will start deploying a stable version of Android 12 to its Pixel phones. That’ll be followed by other OEMs like Xiaomi, which has been testing the Android 12 build internally. The testing started with premium Xiaomi phones, Mi 11 Ultra / Pro, Mi 11, Mi 11 Lite 5G Redmi K40 Pro / Plus, and Redmi K40. Currently, over 13 Xiaomi phones are testing the build internally, with the Redmi K30 Pro / POCO F2 Pro only just started testing.
The Redmi K30 Pro / POCO F2 Pro Android 12 beta started with the recent closed beta update. The build number – MIUI 12.5 V21.7.27, shows the testing commenced on July 27. With the build now being tested internally, we expect closed beta testers to receive the update once the stable version starts rolling out. And given that past rollout schedule, we expect a stable Android 12 update to start seeding towards the tail of August or early September.
Meanwhile, it’s unclear which version of MIUI will deliver Redmi K30 Pro / POCO F2 Pro Android 12 beta update to the closed beta group. Reason being that Xiaomi is expected to announce the next iteration of MIUI (MIUI 13) next month, and if the time frame is correct, the closed beta testers will receive the update a few weeks after the unveiling. Hence, the Android 12 update might arrive with MIUI 13, and hopefully, we will learn more in the coming weeks.
That said, we will continue to keep tabs on new development to update this space. Also, you can stay updated with all Xiaomi Android 12 update news on our dedicated tracker page. There’s you can check if your device is eligible for the upcoming Android update and more.
