Xiaomi is expected to complete the first wave of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition rollout in the coming days. There are twelve phones, including Redmi K30 Pro, that’ll receive the update by August 27. Hence, we expect a busy week as the company will look to complete the deployment on schedule. Yesterday, a new update came for the POCO F2 Pro, a global version of Redmi K30 Pro, and that is likely the last build before the former is upgrade to Enhance Edition. Meanwhile, as expected Redmi K30 Pro MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition rollout has started.
The update is hitting eligible units in China with a version number – MIUI 12.5.4.0 RJKCNXM – and weighs in at 772MB. It comes with some memory and data processing improvements – Focused Algorithm, Atomised Memory, Liquid Storage, and Smart Balance. Also, the build has bumped the Android security patch level to June 2021 to increase system security. That is outdated, but it could be that the build has been in development for some time. Hence, we expect a new update in the coming days/weeks with the latest security patch.
Of course, you can install the Redmi K30 Pro MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition on your POCO F2 Pro, but via TWRP recovery. However, that means you’ll be left with two language options – Chinese and English. Also, Google Play Services might stop working. But if you run the Chinese ROM, check the update via the Updater App or download using the links below.
For the global users, the update is likely to start seeding next month. We expect that because the current build is only an improved version of MIUI and not a major upgrade. Hence, Xiaomi is likely to maintain the two weeks gap between the Chinese and global OTA rollouts.
