The latest version of Android, Android 12, was presented officially a couple of days ago. Google released the source code to AOSP, and that has made developers start developing custom ROMs based on the new Android OS. Also, OEMs have started releasing their roadmap for deploying the update. And while Xiaomi hasn’t done that, the company is already releasing the Android 12 beta build to eligible units. Going by the recent reports, Redmi K40/Mi 11X/POCO F3 Android 12 beta has been released for closed beta testers in China.
Xiaomi has been working to upgrade some of its phones to Android 12 for a couple of weeks. It’s first started the internal test with the Android 12 beta 1 and has now started pushing the build to the closed beta group. That means that stable release is imminent, but that’ll probably happen after the release to Pixel owners. Google is expected to start the deployment after the Pixel 6 series launch, scheduled on October 19.
With that in mind, Xiaomi is making plans to upgrade its phones as soon as possible. For that reason, the company is pushing MIUI based Android 12 beta builds to closed beta testers in China. After the beta tests, the stable ROM users will start getting the update, and we hope for that in the coming weeks.
That said, for those that are eager to test the build, we have provided the download Link of the Redmi K40/Mi 11X/POCO F3 Android 12 beta update. You can install via TWRP Recovery, but we’ll always recommend waiting for the stable build. We also expect that Xiaomi.eu build for that POCO F3 Android 12 beta build to be out soon.
