Xiaomi has extended the HyperOS update to the Redmi K40 units in China, which is available on the international market as POCO F3. The device debuted in 2021, running Android 11, and has since received two Android OS upgrades, meaning the latest upgrade doesn’t include an OS upgrade.
It seems that only phones with elapsed OS upgrade support are left to upgrade to HyperOS. The Redmi K40 received Android 13 with MIUI 14, marking the end of its OS support. With the HyperOS release, we believe it is the last major update for the device, and we recommend installing it when prompted.
Meanwhile, the update might take some time before all eligible users arrive, as it’s still in stable beta testing. It will take two weeks before being widely available, and we expect the global release about that time. That will allow the POCO F3 HyperOS update to start seeding, but we might still not see the update globally.
The Redmi K40 / POCO F3 HyperOS update is rolling out with a version number OS1.0.3.0.TKHCNXM. Of course, it’s a Chinese release, and if you are using the Chinese unit, you can check for updates via the updater app. Global units will likely receive the update in two weeks, and you can follow our social media platforms to know when the rollout starts.
