Redmi K50 specs

Xiaomi opened the Redmi K50 series lineup with the Redmi K50 Gaming and has gone to add additional two devices. The Redmi K50, which is the successor of last year’s Redmi K40, is part of the series. Unlike the predecessor, the device uses a MediaTek Dimensity processor and a beefy battery and supports 67W fast charging. The Redmi K50 price starts at $378, and you can ship from China.

Redmi K50 specs

The Redmi K50 has a flat screen that measures 6.67-inch diagonally. Xiaomi uses the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for protection to give the device a sturdy build. There’s a centered punch hole for the selfie camera while the triple sensors at the back are arranged in a rectangular bump. The camera island has a circular arrangement for the sensors while that flashlight sits underneath. Redmi K50 has dual speaker grills – at the bottom and top, while that IR blaster, SIM tray, volume rocker, and a power button that doubles as fingerprint scanner retains their usual positions. The device is available in Gray, Blue, Green, and Black color options.

It’s an AMOLED panel measuring 6.67-inches diagonally on the Redmi K50. The panel is QHD+ (3200 X 1400) resolution and has a refresh rate of 120Hz. Interestingly, there is support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and up to 1200 nits of brightness. Also, the panel is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which is resistant to scratch and mild falls.

Redmi K50 performance

Under the helm is MediaTek Dimensity 8100 5nm Octa-Core processor. It has its highest cores running at a frequency of 2.85GHZ and coupled with up to 12GB RAM, it’ll deliver peak performance always. Also, there’s a seven-layer vapor cooling chamber to reduce heat generated by the powerful SOC. Outside of the box, the device runs Android 12 on top of MIUI 13.

Redmi K50 camera

The Redmi K50 has a decent camera sensors with the primary 48MP sensor capable of shooting 4k@40fps. It’s supported by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle and 2MP macro shooter. The front selfie camera is a single 20MP shooter for Face ID and answering video calls. It can shoot videos at 1080p@30/120fps.

Redmi K50 battery and security

Power is drawn from a beefy 5500mAh battery and it supports 67W fast charging. It will take 30 minutes to charge the device to 80% from 0 with the inbox charging brick. For security, the phone uses a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It has been optimized to unlock the device faster and perform other functions.

Redmi K50 price and availability

The Redmi K50 price starts at $378 for the 8/128GB memory configuration, while the 12/256GB combo is available at $440. You can ship from China, with the device yet to make its global debut.
