Xiaomi has released the latest premium devices under its Redmi sub-brand. Three devices were launched under the Redmi K70 series. They include Redmi K70, Redmi K70 Pro, and Redmi K70e, all with a similar design.
The Redmi K70 features the latest Xiaomi design language of a flat screen and boxy metal frame. It’s a glass design with a metal frame to give the device a premium look and feel.
Redmi K70 has a 6.67-inch TCL C8 OLED display. It’s a 2K panel and supports up to 4000nits of brightness while refreshing at up to 120hz. The screen supports 3840Hz PWM high-frequency dimming, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision.
Under the hood, Xiaomi prefers the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It’s paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4 storage. The device has a 5000mm2 heat dissipation system aboard. Outside-of-the box, the device runs Android 14 based on HyperOS 1.0.
For optics, Xiaomi has turned to a primary 50MP 1/1.55-inch sensor with OIS. It’s paired with an 8MP Ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro shooter. The front camera is a single 16MP lens for selfies and video calls.
Power is drawn from a 5000mAh battery with support for 120W charging. It will take 18 minutes to charge the device from 0%. If you are worried about battery life, Xiaomi has equipped the phone with a standalone P2 charging chip and a G1 battery management chip to improve battery life and power management.
Other features of the device include an under-screen fingerprint sensor, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, Dual nano-SIM slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Redmi K70 Pricing and Availability
The device will be available in China on December 1, 2023, at 10 AM local time. The base version (12/256GB) starts at CNY 2,499 ($350), while the premium variant (16GB/1TB) starts at CNY 3,399 ($480). You can pick the device in White, Black, Moonstone Blue, and Violet.
When will the Redmi K70 arrive on the Global Market?
Xiaomi will release the Redmi K70 as POCO F6 Pro on the global market. That has been the case for years, and we expect the company to continue in that route. However, we anticipate a price change when the device makes its Global debut under that POCO sub-brand.
