Today, Xiaomi officially presented the HyperOS globally while releasing the rollout plan. According to the roadmap, stable HyperOS is not supposed to start rolling out until next month, at least, but that’s not the case. The much-anticipated upgrade has since arrived for some premium devices, and now, the Redmi Note 12 NFC HyperOS update has started rolling out.
With HyperOS, Xiaomi moved from MIUI but kept its design language. It means the latest Xiaomi Android skin did not bring a major UI redesign with a focus on performance improvement and enhancing animation. The update also improves connectivity while improving security. Of course, there’s a new Control panel, but there is not a big difference with the MIUI 14 control center.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 12 NFC is rolling out with a version number OS1.0.2.0.UMGMIXM and weighs 4.4GB. Aside from introducing HyperOS features, the new update has bumped the Android security patch level to November 2023 and the Android version to 14. There have been some bug fixes and improvements, as expected.
Currently, only limited users are receiving the update, which is exclusive to global units. It will take two weeks for the preview to be completed before more users start getting the upgrade. If you can’t wait for the public release, download the recovery ROM using the link below.
It’s important to note that if your Redmi Note 12 NFC bootloader is unlocked, you will not receive the HyperOS update. To get the OTA, you should relock your bootloader, which might be hard to unlock after upgrading to HyperOS.
